My work is rooted in the emotional connections I find through color, texture, light, and the natural world. I am especially drawn to those fleeting moments when a changing sky, a quiet coastline, or an unexpected combination of colors makes me pause and look more closely.

I grew up in Connecticut and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute. While there, I had the honor of representing the United States in an international competition for young designers in Paris. That experience led to a career in fashion and, later, to Hollywood, where I spent four decades as an Emmy-nominated makeup artist in television and film. Both worlds shaped the way I see: through color, composition, movement, character, and story.

Painting remained a constant source of inspiration throughout those years. In 2017, I returned to fine art full-time, bringing everything I had learned from fashion, film, travel, and life into the studio.

I work primarily with acrylics and mixed media, creating vibrant landscapes and abstract pieces that celebrate nature and the expressive possibilities of materials. I enjoy experimenting with texture, layering, resin, and unconventional elements, allowing each work to develop its own depth, movement, and tactile presence. My process often begins with a place, a memory, or a feeling, but I also leave room for intuition and discovery.

Living in Los Angeles, I find endless inspiration in California's coastlines, shifting skies, and luminous atmosphere. My Italian heritage, travels, and everyday moments of wonder also find their way into my work. Whether I am painting a recognizable landscape or creating a more intuitive composition, my hope is to invite viewers to pause, feel something personal, and reconnect with the beauty around them.

My work has been exhibited throughout Southern California and is held in private collections.

How long have you been painting?

I've been creating art my entire life. I earned my BFA in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute, where I developed a strong foundation in color, composition, and design. After graduating, I worked as a visual merchandiser for Bloomingdale's, creating window displays and in-store installations, before launching my own clothing line and living in Hong Kong, where I designed and produced collections.

Later, my sister and I founded a custom wall finishing and interior decorating business before I moved to California to pursue a career as a Makeup & Hair Artist. I've worked in that industry for decades, and although the canvas changed, the creative principles remained the same. Makeup artistry is essentially painting on a three-dimensional surface, using color, light, shadow, texture, and composition to create visual impact.

Throughout every chapter of my career, creativity has been the common thread. A few years ago, I picked up a paintbrush again, and it felt like coming home. Since then, I've devoted myself to painting and exploring new mixed media techniques, and I haven't looked back.

Why do you paint the way you paint?

I paint intuitively, using color, light, and texture to capture the feeling of a place rather than simply what it looks like. My background in fashion, makeup artistry, and design continues to influence how I see and create. Whether through expressive landscapes or mixed media, I'm inspired by transforming everyday moments and materials into something meaningful, inviting viewers to pause, connect, and see beauty in a new way.

How many paintings do you make a year?

I typically create about one new piece each month, producing around a dozen paintings each year. Working at that pace allows me to give each piece the time and attention it deserves while continuing to explore new ideas and techniques.

Why do you use Acrylic?

I love working with acrylics because they fit the way I paint. They dry quickly, allowing me to build layers and keep the energy and spontaneity in my work. Since my studio is in my home, I also appreciate that acrylics don't have the fumes associated with oil paints. They simply suit both my creative process and my workspace.

Do you do commissions?

Yes, when it's the right fit. I only accept a limited number of commissions each year and prefer projects that align with my style and artistic themes. If you have a special place or meaningful subject in mind, I'd love to hear about it. I enjoy collaborating with clients to create a painting that captures both the beauty of the subject and the story behind it.

The process begins with a conversation. We'll discuss your ideas, the subject, composition, size, mood, and color palette to create a painting that is both meaningful to you and true to my artistic vision. I believe this collaborative planning stage is essential and never rush it.

Once we've finalized the concept and size, a 50% deposit secures your commission and allows me to begin painting. Most larger works take approximately 3–4 weeks to complete. Throughout the process, I'll share progress images so you can provide feedback and ensure we're creating something you'll love.

When the painting is complete and approved, the remaining balance is due before final touches and shipping.

Your artwork will be carefully packaged for safe delivery, and I provide complimentary shipping within the United States and Canada.
